Press Releases
The following press release was issued after Missouri Roundtable For Life’s court appearance on June 30. We requested a temporary restraining order to freeze funds in the Life Sciences Research Trust Fund until a judge clarifies whether Amendment 2 has the power to override previously existing laws, namely those that created the Life Sciences Research Trust Fund. The Fund’s provisions specifically prohibit funding human cloning, abortion services, and prohibited human research so the question is: does Amendment 2, with its mandate for public funding of human cloning and stem cell research, override the laws of the Life Sciences Research Trust Fund, which prohibited it from funding these very practices? In addition, is the appropriation authority of the legislature limited by Amendment 2’s funding mandate? To learn more about this legal action, go to Present Campaign.Press Releases
