Missouri Roundtable For Life is a citizen-formed not-for-profit organization that works to expose the truth about issues pertinent to the state’s prosperity. Established in 2006 to oppose Amendment 2 (the so-called “Missouri Stem Cell Research And Cures Initiative”), we spread the word about this deceptive amendment’s harmful effects with our first publication, which revealed the amendment’s true meaning through a simple examination its fine print (see A Word-By-Word Critique of the So-Called “Missouri Stem Cell Research And Cures Initiative”). The truth is this: Amendment 2 masked as a protector of stem cell research and cures, and a ban on human cloning, while in reality, it actually protects human cloning, and mandates that millions of taxpayer dollars be used to fund cloning and stem cell research, including embryonic stem cell research.

The passage of Amendment 2 has not deterred our efforts. We continue to educate citizens, legislators and the courts, with the goal of limiting or repealing the fiscally and ethically harmful effects of Amendment 2. Our second publication elaborates on the consequences of Amendment 2 for Missourians, with particular focus on the funding entities that are poised to receive our tax dollars for human cloning and like research (see So Why Did The Cloners Spend $30 Million On Amendment 2, The So-Called “Missouri Stem Cell Research And Cures Initiative”?). Where our tax dollars go is something all Missourians care about, particularly when they’re directed covertly through a misleading amendment to fund cloning practices objected to by Missourians!
