Former Senator John Danforth wrote in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on
July 17, 2007that opponents of human cloning and human embryo
destruction "believe that stem cells are persons"
This statement is nonsense and a complete misrepresentation of the position
of the Life Community. Our position is:
Embryos are human beings,
and harvesting their stem cells kills them.
This reality is recognized by Missouri law, which clearly defines
human embryos as human beings in Section 188.015(6) of the Revised
Statutes of Missouri.
The disingenuous misrepresentation of the position of the Life
Community is not in the public’s interest.
